The Poblenou-based duo formed by Júlia Diaz and Roc Bernadí became the first major highlight of the sixth edition of the RAC105 Awards, held yesterday at Barcelona’s Teatre Victòria, taking home the Best EP award in a night that also recognised artists such as Nil Moliner, Figa Flawas, Ginestà and La Fúmiga
The sixth edition of the RAC105 Awards once again turned Barcelona’s Teatre Victòria into a celebration of Catalan music, with a gala marked by the scene’s strong creative momentum and a remarkable diversity of styles and generations.
Still, the night had clear early protagonists: Svetlana, the duo from Poblenou formed by Júlia Diaz and Roc Bernadí, who won the award for Best EP of the Year — the first award handed out during the ceremony — in recognition of the project’s growing impact within today’s music scene.
The award comes after an especially intense year for the band, which began with the explosive release of ‘Sarnalona’, their EP dedicated to Barcelona, and continued with a packed year of concerts across Catalonia as well as performances in Japan and South Korea. Touring and new releases have helped consolidate Svetlana’s artistic proposal through a unique formula where electronic pop, theatricality and an increasingly defined artistic identity stand as the foundations of the Poblenou duo.
